Our team was created in January 2002. Its main abjective is to develop methods allowing for the quantitative interpretation of scintigraphic images, which are a certain type of medical images. These images are obtained through SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, in Nuclear Medicine departments.
These methods must help determine the precise distribution of radiotracers in the body, as well as physiological parameters derived from this distribution that are useful for diagnosis purpose and therapeutic follow-up.
An associated objective of our team is obviously to demonstrate the value of the proposed methods for improving patients' diagnosis and management.
